The International Colloquium for Vernacular, Hispanic, Historical, American and Folklore Studies.

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, October 16, 17, 18, 2003.

A major host will be the Instituto de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades, along with the Vernacular Society, the various popular and American culture associations, and other academic groups. Topics include anthropology, sociology, archaeology, gender, tourism and travel, Central America, communication, computing, culture wars, photography, psychology, Chicano and Chicana issues, Mexican History, art and architecture, the drug problem, linguistics, folklore, poetry and literature readings, music and performance, dance, film and television, food, computers, education, urban issues. Affiliated organizations include the Popular and American Culture Associations and their regional associations, Phi Beta Delta International, Blue Key International, the Mexican Caribbean Studies Association, Pan-American Vernacular Society, Lexington Press, Blackwells Publishers.
